The article by Dunav Re, “Reinsurance – Support, Absorptive Power and Diversification,” was published in the April issue of the journal for insurance law, economics and practice – “Svet osiguranja”.

The text emphasizes the continuous increase in the types and intensity of risks due to climate change, which significantly affects the insurance and reinsurance markets.

Reinsurers simultaneously build and improve financial resilience to the consequences of extreme loss events such as floods, fires, and similar disasters. A key advantage is the global diversification of reinsurance, which prevents local overconcentration of risk. As a result, when property in affected areas is insured, state budgets are spared significant losses required for the reconstruction of infrastructure and assets after a catastrophe.
